Darshan is the direct vision of the divine, in Sanskrit, blessed vision, appearance or revelation of truth.

Darshan is also an expression for the charisma of a human being that has realised his or her true nature. Mahatma Gandhi had darshan, Ramana Maharshi had darshan. It describes the vision of, or the meeting with a saint or a spiritual teacher. Darshan is a tradition in which the  silent mind is transmitted. This can happen in a non-vocalised way or in a vocalized way as is the case in darshan with OM.

"The teacher is stillness"*

Teachers’ personalities may express the ‘ONE’ in different ways but the stillness remains unaltered. Stillness, which is behind everything and in everything, "In darshan the Self speaks to the Self. Darshan is the invitation to dive into the ocean of stillness and never return."*

Everybody can ask questions or share his heart in darshan. Each of OM's answers has the clear and sharp flavour of uncompromising truth. Penetrating straight through the questions, OM focuses directly at the questioner himself, dropping  deeper than thoughts or feelings can do.

"You are stillness"*

"In darshan an inward room opens up, intimacy with oneself. You allow yourself to see really, through time, through space, through any mask. Then, there is stillness. Then, there is peace. Then, there is simplicity. Suffering is at an end. The encounter with the teacher in darshan takes place without a relationship. A relationship would require two, this coming together only one. That is the difference."*

To meet face to face in this way is usually quite intimate. It is unusual to look into the eyes of a human being like OM, burning so intensely and so detached at the same time. If the eyes are considered to be the windows of the soul, this is like looking into an empty house. It can feel like catching fire, it can be like falling into nothingness, like an electric shock or like a vortex. Perhaps it is a relaxed sinking into stillness, perhaps one goes home annoyed. Everybody has his own experience in darshan, in the presence of an awakened being, but nobody remains untouched by the fire of truth.

Darshans with OM take place throughout Europe. For more detailed information see Schedule.
